Pictures from the Co. Down coastal town of Groomsport in Northern Ireland.

Groomsport is a coastal village situated in County Down, Northern Ireland. Groomsport's coastal location makes it a popular destination for those seeking seaside relaxation and scenic walks along the waterfront.

Adjacent to the harbour, Cockle Row Cottages offer a nostalgic glimpse into the past. Believed to have stood for nearly four centuries, Cockle Row is a remnant of old Groomsport. Initially comprising a pair of fisherman's cottages, the age of this structure is evident both in design and weathered appearance.

The War Memorial at Groomsport has an interesting coastal setting reminiscent of others at Ballywalter and Millisle.

A memorial to Frederick Duke of Schomberg who is said to have landed at Groomsport with an army of 10,000 was unveiled in 1952. The Duke of Schomberg, who supported William III Prince of Orange, was killed at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690.
