Pictures from the Essex village of Great Wigborough and the Anglican Parish Church of St. Stephen.

Perched atop a hill, the church tower of St. Stephen's at Great Wigborough stands as a landmark in the parish, with roots dating prior to the 14th century. St. Stephen's Church, features a 14th-century nave and chancel. The late 15th-century tower and porch, damaged in the 1884 earthquake that struck Colchester and Mersea Island, were reconstructed through public support. In 1890, the chancel underwent a complete rebuild, funded by the rector. Further restoration in 2020/21, part of the "Meeting Place for the Community Project," included raising the nave floor and relocating the font for accessibility.
