Cushendun, situated in County Antrim, provides a range of photography opportunities. The coastal landscapes and beach are beautiful particularly at sunrise and sunset.

Architect Clough Williams-Ellis, perhaps best known for his creation of the Italianate village of Portmeirion in North Wales designed several houses in Cushendun.

In the TV series Game of Thrones, Cushendun Caves were used to film scenes in the Stormlands, a fictional region in the world of Westeros. Specifically, the caves served as the location for the dramatic and mysterious birth scene of the shadow creature that assassinates Renly Baratheon.

Nature enthusiasts can explore the River Dun, flowing from Glendun one of the 9 Glens of Antrim. The bridge over the river gives off a strange pinkish tinge in the right light! The river flows into a small harbour that often has several small boats and waterbirds.

Tor Head is close by and as the roads climb out of Cushendun there are extra opportunities for landscape/seascape at greater elevations.

Johann the Goat is an unmissable piece of public art, commemorating the famous Cushendun goat that used to graze alongside the harbour.
